Know Why You Should Not Let Babies Drink Fruit Juices

Children’s urgent care provider and other health care and nutrition specialist all over the world have made researches and studies in connection to the effect of over consumption of fruit juices as to their diet and overall optimum balance of children’s and babies’ diet. And amongst all of the studies conducted there several common results that have been noted that should alarm us as to why we should not let our babies and kids to consume fruit juices or at limit their consumption.
Well for starters, according to the data yielded from the said studies above when we introduce fruit juices in to the diet of our babies or our children during the early stages of their life onwards, as a supplement to their intake of essential vitamins and minerals, we are hindering them from enjoying healthy amounts of fruits, vegetables, and other plant based foods. Over the years, records have shown that the degree of fruit juice consumption have surged up making children’s consumption of fruits to drop at the same rate which is quite alarming. We have to remember that the nutrients that we get from fruits and vegetables are quite compounded and are not as good as those that our children can get from actual plant based foods which can provide the healthy amounts of it in every bite.
Another reason found in the studies why we should not let our babies and toddlers to consume fruit juices is the fact that they can get harmful pathogens from it such as Salmonella and E. Coli, since fruit juices should be properly pasteurized or processed.
